I'm a fan of podcasts (the good ones, of course!), and I listen most days on walks I take alone or with a dog by my side. My list has titles with wide-ranging subject matter, from nutrition to politics to money to (surprise, surprise) books. I know I'm always interested to hear about what my friends are listening to, so I thought I'd share 3 book-related podcasts that keep me company by the Bay.
- The Librarian is In - In this biweekly podcast, two librarians from the New York Public Library discuss books and libraries. They always have a wide range of book recommendations, from kids to teens to adult fiction and nonfiction. They're smart and entertaining, and I always put at least one from their lists on hold at my local library. You can start listening to anytime.
- Harry Potter and the Sacred Text - I cannot say enough good things about this podcast. Vanessa and Casper just started the third season, which corresponds with the third Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Each week they examine and discuss one chapter through a thematic lens, and they have made me love the series even more. My favorite takeaway from Season 2? Ginny is the star of the second book. Definitely start from the beginning!
- My Dad Wrote a Porno - This is what it sounds like, and it's is the only podcast on this list that's not family-friendly. Three friends read aloud the erotic novels one of their dads wrote. The book's terrible and therefore funny, and the trio has no problem making fun of it and themselves. It's currently on hiatus, but there are two books worth of episodes to keep you laughing. Start from the beginning of this one, too.
I'd love to hear from you! What podcasts, book-related or not, are you loving right now?
